Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University (FRANU) gives the Bibles to its nursing students at their annual pinning. We could not provide this gift if it weren’t for your wonderful donation. Before I came here, the students were receiving the Gideon Bible which didn’t represent our Catholic identity. We are so blessed to have your generous organization support our mission and identity as we continue to form servant leaders.

We are a small Catholic faith based university with many health care programs including doctoral and master’s levels along with undergraduate degrees in PTA, Radiology, Respiratory, Theology, Psychology, and Biology degrees and certificates in bioethics, catechesis, diaconate, and phlebotomy.

Many blessings to you and your ministry.

I work in a large office with many personalities and characters. Some are very nice people, and some are downright nasty, foul moody, dissatisfied, and rebellious. The majority of those happen to be sitting near me or at least within earshot distance.

Lately, their snide comments, ugly retorts and obvious attempts at making me feel left out, unwanted and unneeded, had become nearly unbearable. Often I wanted to quit my job, but couldn’t afford to, especially now that my son is still trying to get his life together and off the ground.

Some time ago, while attending a local retreat I had received a hardcover maroon Bible that helped turn my life around. As I was reading it, I noticed a contact number for the Foundation listed on the back of it. When I called, I found the most sincere, comforting and enlightening voice I had heard in a long time. All they did was listen to me, let me cry a bit, and assured me that God’s ineffable plan was definitely at work in my life. They recommended a passage from the Gospel of St. Luke 6:35-36: “But rather, love your enemies and do good to them, and lend expecting nothing back; then your reward will be great and you will be children of the Most High, for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. Be merciful, just as [also] your Father is merciful.”

Praise be to my Lord God! Every morning thereafter, while still in my car, I opened the passage found in my trusty Bible and proclaimed the reading out loud, just as I was told to do. This I repeated at the end of the day. On days that were more miserable, I secretly opened the Bible at my desk and silently read it again, sometimes with tears in my eyes.

The results have been magnificent. Either I have changed or those around me changed, or both. I feel as if there is a protective shield around me keeping harm and evil thoughts away. I greet them all, wish them well, and say good-bye to each of them at the end of the day. I move through the day with the grace of God that is supported by the beautiful Word of God.

I wished to share this with everyone, letting all know that your God is bigger than any problem you might encounter and that He is definitely not done writing your story. The best is yet to come.

The Archdiocese of San Antonio has had the great privilege of working with City of Agape Charitable Foundation in providing Catholic Edition Holy Bibles for every couple who attends a Marriage Preparation Retreat coordinated by our Archdiocese. Each couple receives this gift to go forth and spread the Word of God as they pursue God’s call to their Vocation of Marriage. As a coordinator of the Archdiocese of San Antonio’s Marriage Preparation Retreats, I have seen firsthand our participants priceless reactions receiving their bible on the Sunday morning of the retreat, unfailingly in awe of the bible being theirs to keep. Without the generosity of this ministry, it would not be possible to provide each couple with this gift.

Thanks to our collaboration with CityofAgape, 34 couples were just blessed with a copy of their own Holy Bible at our most recent retreat October 12th-13th of 2019. Thank you for your ministry – It has been a blessing and has witnessed the Good News of Jesus Christ to many!

Thank You Card October 9, 2019

Dear Michael,
Thank you very much for the beautiful Bibles you sent us for our eighth-grade boys here at St. Catherine’s Academy! Our Cadets absolutely love them! We have 50 eighth-graders in 3 homerooms. The Bibles were used during our group work where they looked up passages about angels in Scripture and answered questions. Again, thank you … we love the Bibles and will put them to good use! And I (and also the boys) have been praying for your intentions each day!! Our entire school community is so very grateful for you and your very generous goodness. God bless you,

My students are thrilled with the new Bibles and absolutely love reading and reflecting upon them daily. On the few days that we have not had time to read our Bibles, I have had several students come to me and mention how much they missed reading the Bible that day. The students have written thank you cards, which are currently in the mail. The students are also doing a weekly fundraiser during our morning assembly to donate back to CityofAgape. Once again, I appreciate all that you and CityofAgape did to get these Bibles into my students hands. God bless.

I have received the shipment of Spanish Catholic bibles for which I am most grateful. These bibles help fulfill a great need among our Hispanic Catholics. They often remark about the beauty of the book along with the ribbon marker. I always remind them that the real beauty lies within the book. I ask them to pray for your staff and donors who have made this possible.

Sincerely yours,

Hello, My name is Jim and I’m writing this for my wife Debbie who teaches CCD for students receiving confirmation. A couple months ago, about March, Debbie contacted one of our reps to request 30 bibles to give to these confirmation students. We received them shortly thereafter.

We had the confirmation yesterday and the Bibles were greatly appreciated. Both of us just wanted to say thank you very much for your ministry and we will keep all of you in our prayers. If it is OK, we’d like to contact you for Bibles again for next year’s class. May God Bless, Jim & Deb.

Ss. Peter & Paul

To whom it may concern:

We have supplied our youth ministries, prison ministries, and various parish events and programs with these Bibles that bears the Imprimatur of William Cardinal Keeler.

We thank God for their “free Bibles for Catholics” ministry. We hope they reach their goal of distributing 20,000 free Bibles this year and encourage you to take advantage of their offering.

Again, the charge to us was (0) and they have assured us that there is no charge of any kind to receive Bibles delivered to any special locations in the United States.”
